Carlisle MP, Julie Minns, has met with representatives of the Campaign for Borders Rail to discuss extension of the Borders Railway south to Carlisle.
She said: “Having seen how successful the reopened line between Edinburgh and Tweedbank has been over the last decade, I am keen to understand what the viability study will say about the benefits of reopening the line north of Carlisle might be for North Cumbria and the Borders.”
